  • GLCF hosts Earthsat's VP

Earthsat, an established NASA collaborator and developer of remote sensing products, recently visited GLCF. Jon Dykstra, Earthsat's Vice President and Director of Image Processing, attended the meeting. The first of several such meetings, the foundation was laid for extended collaboration between our organizations. In part this is significant insofar as both our organizations are leaders in our fields and this meeting represents the ability of advanced academic and commercial enterprises to work together toward shared goals.

  • East - West Data Exchange

Subsequent to a long-term relationship with members of the Russian environmental community, GLCF, in cooperation with WRI Russia, has taken steps for the exchange of hundreds of Landsat 7 scenes. All of these scenes, some previously available only at substantial cost to US researchers, will now be freely accessible to the US remote sensing community. We believe that this exchange of data represents just one of what will hopefully be many such exchanges and look forward to a long-term collaboration with our new colleagues.
